New, annual, non-profit video games fundraising initiative launching on Tuesday 3rd December 2013
London, UK – Monday 21st October 2013 Playmob, the London-based technology company championing charitable fundraising through video games, today announced the first details of its non-profit initiative Gaming Tuesday ( www.gamingtuesday.org).
Gaming Tuesday is an initiative created to partner with the established global day #GivingTuesday ( www.givingtuesday.org). The new movement champions games developers to come together and kick off the festive period by providing their players with the option to support a charity of their choice (and do good) whilst playing their favourite game.
#GivingTuesday, the annual day of giving which takes place on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday is designed to raise funds for worthy causes. Playmob envisions that Gaming Tuesday will demonstrate the passion, creativity and generosity of the gaming and development communities.
Charities involved in Gaming Tuesday to date include: Chance to Grow / War Child / Weforest / WWF / HelpUSA / Marys Meals / Cybersmile / Friends of the Earth / Project Moz / Sos Childrens Villages / Special Effect / Computer International and Action for Kids. Playmob is planning to announce game developers and content for Gaming Tuesday in the coming weeks.
