Copenhagen, Denmark, July 3 rd 2014: Independent games developer and publisher Zero Point Software has revealed that its next major update to Sci-Fi FPS Interstellar Marines will unleash the power of Co-Op gameplay. “At its heart, Interstellar Marines is a Co-Op and Single-Player game, and we have been waiting a long time to be able to reveal our very first Co-Op experience to our players”, says Kim Haar Jørgensen, Creative Director of Interstellar Marines.
“Our entire team is committed to delivering the most intense gameplay experience possible, so we can make this first Co-Op reveal something that immerses and impacts players. Immersion is something that many games strive for, but most fail to deliver, and as one of the central pillars of Interstellar Marines, we are going all-out to achieve that”, Kim continues.
Players will be able to play the forthcoming update in up to 4-player Co-Op mode, or individually as a Single-Player mission. ZPS have also been releasing work-in-progress videos to showcase what gamers will be encountering when they play the new Co-Op update, and these can be viewed by visiting the games increasingly popular YouTube™ channel at www.youtube.com/zeropointsoftware.
“We want to ensure that when a player first tries the Co-Op experience, they do not know what to expect, or what’s going to come at them. It’s to keep this surprise that we’re holding back information on the actual gameplay - immersion is even greater if surprise is thrown in there as well!”, Kim concludes.
The new major update to Interstellar Marines will be available in August 2014.

About Interstellar Marines:
Interstellar Marines was launched on Steam’s Early Access on July 2nd, 2013. Since then the developers have released 12 updates and several smaller update fixes. Interstellar Marines is being developed on the Unity 3D engine and is currently in Pre-Alpha. When complete, Interstellar Marines will resurrect the old school tactical FPS, and offer a unique blend of co-op, role-playing and nonlinear gameplay. Set in a believable future, you will take on the role as an elite soldier handpicked to join Project IM, a top secret military program being assembled to protect mankind from all dangers outside our solar system. Interstellar Marines is inspired by Half-Life, System Shock 2 and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. The game is all about evolving the FPS recipe with all the inspirations ZPS has assimilated since the birth of the genre. The goal is an evolutionary leap forward driven by their compulsive interest in science fiction, role-playing, military realism, and respect for first person immersion.
