“Liege”, a Story Driven Tactical RPG Announced

New York, NY– June 27 th, 2013– Independent developer John Rhee of Coda Games has revealed Liege, an upcoming cross-platform tactical RPG. Under development for over two years, the game features elegant, turn-based tactical gameplay woven seamlessly into an epic tale of war, all depicted in beautifully hand-drawn HD.

Following the King’s death at the game’s opening, players track the converging paths of a diverse cast of characters, from powerful nobles vying for the throne, to former commanders and agents of the late king, to an underground movement of outlaws with plans to incite revolution amidst the chaos.

“My goal with Liege is to create a unique blend of rich, compelling narrative and interesting tactical gameplay,” says Rhee.“This project is about evolving the classic JRPG format for a modern and maturing audience, and helping to push the limits of where games can be taken as a storytelling format.”

Along with the game’s announcement, an official information page, an announcement trailer, and a Kickstarter campaign for the project have been posted. The game is currently in early development, and is scheduled for release early in 2014.
