GUI Artist - South East, Salary £Neg – Games

OPM are delighted to be working with this simulation games studio in the UK. We are seeking an experienced GUI artist to work closely with the design team to develop an intuitive and smooth user experience, as well as to design the graphical elements that you will need to build the User Interface.
Key aspects of the role include:
·Working closely with the creative director, lead artist and UI lead to produce mockups and prototypes
·Partnering with the lead artist and UI lead to establish and publish the UI art manual
·Designing and forming required art assets for use in UI creation
·Working closely with the designers and UI lead to implement UI features and flow
·Rapidly iterating upon design implementations to ensure the most natural experience is presented to the player
Qualifications and Training
·2+ years of experience with user interface design for video games or interactive websites
·Minimum maths & English GCSE or equivalent, CSE, O’Level, Level 2 NVQ
·Knowledge of Scaleform, Javascript, basic HTML, XML and CSS
·Knowledge of 3DS Max or Maya
·Excellent and proven graphic and information design background
·Strong usability design/test experience
·Working within an office environment
·Project Management – strong organisational
·Ability to set up systems and procedures
·Working within the gaming or interactive entertainment community
·Working knowledge of design solutions for 3D interfaces
Skills, Aptitudes and Abilities
·Ability to iterate on clear and complete user/data flows prior to development
·IT Literate including all Microsoft office applications
·Expert with standard art tools of the trade (Photoshop, Illustrator)
·Strong time management skills for themselves and others
·Ability to prioritise workload
·Presentation skills
·Expert understanding of Flash: workflow, asset creation, .fla set up, optimization, and organization, animation, components and libraries
·Functional understanding of Flash AS 3 (basic scripting, calls to external targets
