Strategy card game Faeria gets monthly $3,000 tournaments

Upcoming strategy card game Faeria will have monthly tournaments where the best players will compete for a share of $3,000.

Despite only being in early access developer Abrakam is already starting up a regular eSports scene with the new tournaments. Each month 32 players will compete for the $3,000 prize, with 16 competitors coming from two open bracket qualifying tournaments, eight of the highest ranked gods of the season, four invited guest players and four players voted in by the community.

Invited guest players can range from key community figures through to pro players from other competitive games that have expressed interest in Faeria’s growing eSports scene. The fan vote for the first monthly event will start at the beginning of Season 2 on June 6th.

Combined with the announcement of the new events Abrakam also revealed the new competitive format known as Pantheon. This new rule set requires players to submit three different decks for use during the tournament’s best of three, or best of five if a player makes it to the final, rounds. Players will not be able to use more than three of any card, or one of any Legendary card, across their entire set of decks, meaning if you use one card three times in your first deck, you can no longer have that card in deck two or three. When a player wins a round they must use the same deck in the next round, when a player loses they must use a different deck.
