Smurfs Facebook game hits 4m users

Ubisoft’s The Smurfs & Co has become the fastest-growing Facebook game in the past two weeks, picking up 4.1m monthly active users.

The town-building adventure game went live on July 29th and is currently the No.1 licence-based social game in the world, according to AppData.

The Smurfs & Co will also be launching on popular Japanese social network Mixi in early September to coincide with the Japanese launch of The Smurfs movie.

Ubisoft is incredibly pleased with how popular The Smurfs & Co game has been among players,” said Ubisoft’s VP of digital publishing Chris Early.

Ubisoft has become a global gaming partner for The Smurfs brand by offering consumers a range of fun Smurfs games to play including the entertaining The Smurfs & Co Facebook game, The Smurfs Dance Party on Wii, and The Smurfs on DS.”

Capcom is another publisher that has seen success with The Smurfs brand. Its free-to-download iPhone game The Smurfs’ Village has been one of top grossing apps in recent months, as it allows users to pay for extra in-game smurfberries.
