Singapore based mobile developer Nonstop Games closes its doors

Singapore-based mobile developer Nonstop Games, best known for now defunct strategy game Heroes of Honor, has shut its doors, according to parent company King.

Nonstop Games was set up as GamesMadeMe in 2012 by a group of Finnish developers, but became Nonstop Games in 2012. Their biggest game was the mobile and facebook strategy Heroes of Honor, but the title came to an end last year.

Nonstop Games’ website now links to the King homepage. King acquired the studio in 2014 for a deal that was worth $32m in total and included a $10m payment to ensure key staff didn’t leave within the first 12 months.

At the time King bought the developer with an eye to improving its core games business and break out of the casual gaming space, but as it was itself acquired by Activision Blizzard recently, King can probably now count on the resources of one of the biggest games companies to fall back on for core gaming.

It’s not sure when the study itself was closed. The last tweet from the official account was on January 11 2016 and tweets were regular up to that point. In a statement to GamesIndustry.Biz, who broke news of the closure, King said: "After careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to close our Singapore studio."

"We have a fantastic team and world-class talent in the studio and will be working hard to ensure as many people as possible stay within King. For those leaving the company we are committed to ensuring the best possible transition and assistance."
