Mayaâ??s tenth anniversary edition profiled in depth

Maya 2009 in focus

Develop’s latest tools feature takes an in depth look at Maya 2009, which comes ten years after the 3D modelling and animation solution’s debut.

Now owned by Autodesk, which also counts Maya’s former rival 3ds Max under its umbrella of products, the new version of the popular tool has undergone something of a refinement as opposed to a complete overhaul, with a focus on improving performance, stability and inter-operability.

As well as enabling smoother compatibility with other Autodesk products like MotionBuilder and Toxik, the new muscle and particle features stand out as the most significant improvements.
