International Game Developers Association welcomes faces new and old

IGDA Appoints new board members

The IGDA has appointed three new additions to its board, as well as welcoming back 1st Playable Productions’ CEO Tobi Saulnier, who returns for another term.

Gordon Bellamy of Image Metrics, Tim Langdell, independent game designer and lead game professor at National University, and Jamil Moledina, outreach director at EA Partners, have all joined the board for the 2009/10 term.

Meanwhile, industry design veteran Bob Bates was appointed as the new chairperson and Coray Seifert was instated as secretary. Saulnier is assuming the treasurer role.

"The IGDA is working hard this year to increase member value, especially given the economic turmoil that is causing difficulties for so many people in our community," said Bates.

"As the largest organization of game development professionals in the world, we serve nearly 16,000 members with our efforts to build community, advocate on important issues, and advance the careers of game developers everywhere."

The Association is also to host the IGDA Leadership Forum, which will run in San Francisco from November 12th to 13th.
