There has been a big consolidation in the Eastern European video games distribution sector.
Serbian outfit Iris-Mega, which is based in Belgrade, has agreed to acquire Slovenian rival Videotop Skupina, which is based in Maribor.
Iris-Mega, which has been operating since the ’90s, recently acquired IT distributor PC Centar in the summer of last year. It enjoys exclusive partnerships in the region with the likes of Activision, Square Enix, Disney and Bandai Namco. The buyout brings companies such as Sega and Konami on board.
No jobs are being lost in the move, with Videotop Skupina director Nebojša Jankovi? named as the general manager of the new outfit.

The combined company will become the leading video games distributor of the whole Adria region.”
