Mac games developer and porting house Aspyr is reported to have axed as much as half its workforce.
Several anonymous sources have told news site BigDownload that Aspyr’s Texas-based offices underwent the heavy layoffs around a fortnight ago.
Develop is approaching Aspyr for comment. The group has not confirmed today’s rumours.
During December last year the studio confirmed that it had made around a third of its staff redundant, citing the poor economic climate.
Founded in 1996, the company is best known as a publisher and developer of titles for the Apple Mac, though the company’s remit has expanded in recent times. The firm had recently ported the original Call of Duty to XBLA and PSN.
