Art Academy faces stock shortages

Art Academy is a sell out. A number of High Street chains have told MCV they have no more copies of the game left.

GAME is among the video game retailers that have been hit by the shortages and are waiting for a new batch of stock to arrive.

Nintendo’s UK head of communications Rob Saunders told MCV: Due to the very positive public reception for Art Academy we are aware of some pockets of stock shortages in a small number of retailers.

We’re working hard with our retail partners to identify where those gaps exist and to replenish stock of the game as soon as possible.”

Art Academy teaches users to paint and draw with step-by-step instructions.

The game was released on August 6th and soon went to the top of the DS charts where it now sits for the second consecutive week. It is currently No.6 in the All Formats Top 40.

Nintendo also backed Art Academy around its release with a widespread TV advertising campaign.

The publisher had similar success with puzzler Rooms: The Main Building in June, which made it to No.4 in the All Formats charts and topped the DS Top 10.
