Tell us about your company.

Testronic has been providing QA, compliance, functionality, compatibility and localization services to the games industry for 18 years.

Our Functionality QA team supports publishers and developers in providing their customers with the very best gaming experience possible, while our Localization team, covering 37 languages, caters to a truly global market.

What differentiates you from similar outfits?

We have almost many years of experience partnering with industries from entertainment, media and games to publishing, e-commerce and consumer electronics. We work with game publishers, major studios, software developers and some of the biggest broadcasters in the world.

But it is probably our relationships with games publishers and developers, nurtured over the past 18 years, which sets us apart from others in this space. We aim to actively support the creative community in particular, our sponsorship of the Develop Awards being testament to that.

What excites you about the games industry and games development today?

The emergence of VR, AR and eSports – plus the adoption of elements of the freemium model within premium games – is allowing publishers to deliver innovative and rewarding gameplay to users across a whole host of new platforms.

Testronic has always been quick to embrace new technologies, offering QA services across new platforms as soon as they’re released. We’re also seeing the resurgence of indie developers – by offering a scalable operation Testronic is able to offer support to development teams of all sizes.

What do you think the line-up of this year’s Develop Awards finalists says about the industry today?

The breadth of talent in the UK games industry – particularly the creative sector – has long been apparent. But this year’s line-up of Develop Awards finalists, from independent micro studios to in-house teams at international publishers, further demonstrates that we are truly at the cutting edge of the global games business.

Do you have a message for the finalists?

Congratulations on making it to the shortlist. There is tremendous talent in the business so to make it as a finalist is a huge achievement. And good luck on the big night. We’re looking forward to celebrating our great industry along with you all.

Anything else you’d like to add?

We’re obviously delighted to be sponsoring the Develop Awards, but we’re also incredibly honoured to be a finalist ourselves.

We’ve had a great year, with the opening of our dedicated VR Test Centre, the expansion of our teams in Warsaw and picking up another accolade earlier this year – inclusion in the City AM Leap 100, a listing of the UK’s ‘most exciting, high growth companies’.
