Rookie industry choir gets the Star Chambers treatment
GamesOnSong raises£12,500 for GamesAid
Games industry Choir performs live in London to a packed house
19 th December 2012. London, UK : Tired of the modern day Christmas excesses and over the top behaviour? Ever fancied a bit more of a‘Trad’ celebration? Well the GamesAid Choir GamesOnSong delivered just that last night at St Stephen’s in Hampstead, London.
The GamesOnSong choir was the brain child of Ian Chambers who managed to get together a band 22 willing‘singers’ from 18 different companies from the computer and video games industry. Most of the choir were total novices and early signs were not actually that promising. But following a strict regime of practice, practice and more practice, the choir made their debut performance in front of a crowd of 170 guests all who donated money to GamesAid.
The event raised a whopping£12,500 for GamesAid and special thanks go to all those who paid to see the GamesOnSong choir perform last night. The repertoire included classic Christmas Carols such as Silent Night, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Hark the Herald Angels and an incredibly rousing version of Jerusalem. Highlights of the night went to the soloists, Keith Ramsdale, Rob Cooper, Becca Roberts, Ian Livingstone and Katie Brooks all of whom delivered bravura performances with style and passion to boot.
The full GamesOnSong line up was Bruce Grove (OnLive), Andy Payne (Mastertronic) Harry Holmwood (Marvelous), Rob Cooper (Ubisoft), John Clarke (Sega), Chris Marcus (Ubisoft), Alan Dykes (Ubisoft) Tracey McGarrigan (SciFi London) Kirsty Payne (Rocket Media), Jo Twist (Ukie), Charlotte Simmonds (PR Consultant), Vicky Baker (Superhero), Ian Livingstone (Eidos), Keith Ramsdale (EA), Rich Keen (IGN), Phil Brannelly (Thumbstar Games), Ian Chambers (Choirmaster&IGN), Paul Marcantonio (Click and Buy), Peter Oliver (Sega) Sophie Cristobal (Localisation Consultant), Becca Roberts (Indigo Pearl), Katie Brooks (Bethesda) Ombeline Wallon (Ubisoft)
