LEGENDary Characters Leap off the Page, onto the Web in "Cities of Legend"

Last year, author and video game industry veteran, Marie Lu ( Disney Interactive Studios, Hollywood Interactive Group, Online Alchemy), introduced readers to the dystopian world of  Legend , a splintered America embroiled in constant conflict among warring powers - a debut novel that The  New York Times calls, "a fine example of commercial fiction with razor-sharp plotting, depth of character and emotional arc..."

Today, Marie, in conjunction with  Wicked Sweet Games, invites fans to interact with the world and its events in an entirely new way - through a free-to-play Facebook game called  "Cities of Legend." The game takes place before the events of  Legend and uses puzzles, role-playing, and social elements to bring the conflicted world of the books to life. Players choose to join the Republic or fight alongside the Rebels and earn points through various challenges and missions.

In anticipation of the January 2013 launch of the next installment in the popular book series,  Prodigy, "Cities of Legend" provides fans with a pre-release "fix" while also helping to foster and build the active community of  Legend fanatics. 

Key game features include:

• Choice in Team– Decide whether you will align yourself with June and the Republic, which rules a post-apocalyptic nation in turmoil, or with Day and the Rebels, fighting to overthrow the ruling political faction.[/*]
• Epic Action and Thrilling Missions– Battle the opposing team in a game of strength, speed and strategy. Winning a battle gives your team points and helps shift the balance of power in the world. June and Day make regular appearances in an effort to recruit you for special missions.[/*]
• Constantly Evolving Gameplay– At launch,“Cities of Legend” features a rich world with 20 futuristic real-world locations, 10 playable characters, 5 missions and a vast selection of power ups to assist you in battle. Regular content updates including new characters, new Locations, and new power ups help tease the upcoming novel, Prodigy, and add to the depth of gameplay.
