(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)
Back of the net! EA’s FIFA 13 has topped the iPad Qi league table for September 2012. In good news for soccer fans worldwide, the latest iteration of EA’s long-running football franchise has improved its teamwork, finally supplying online play. Following close behind EA's footballing masterclass is Warner Bros.'s Bastion, the highly regarded (and intriguingly narrated) Xbox action-RPG. Fireproof Games's spellbinding The Room, meanwhile, has been bewitching reviewers with its pristine clockwork puzzle play. Hacking its way into fourth place, God of Blades brings a dose of epic fantasy and prog rock excess to the endless-runner market. Speaking of running, Rayman Jungle Run has been winning plaudits for its stunning take on the platforming speedrun genre.
By comparison, things are a little more docile at the top of the iPad Qi September app chart, with Nanny App helping first-time parents with advice on everything from feeding to fun activities with your tot. For the rest of the family, Kitchen Aid Kit helps out with the cooking by providing numerous handy measuring, weighing, timing, and unit conversion tools. Down in seventh place, RockPlayer2 provides a flexible media player with gesture-based controls. And if we started this month's app chart round-up with a tool for parents, then Dandelion is definitely one for the kids. It’s a lovely interactive story which helps little ones to deal with bullying through the use of their imagination - and a little puffing and prodding of an iOS device.
We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which iPad games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the iPad Quality Index now.
