VIDEO: Filmmakers Lisanne Pajot and James Swirsky swamped with praise
The two documentarians behind Indie Game The Movie were today given a spectacular standing ovation from the games industry at the conclusion of the movie’s screening at GDC.
Filmmakers Lisanne Pajot and James Swirsky both seemed overwhelmed as a packed conference room stood and applauded the film for more than a minute as the end credits rolled.
The were-you-there moment was captured on video by Develop and can be found below.
Indie Game The Movie is a unique documentary that explores the often misunderstood lives of games developers and reveals its subjects as artists, according to its co-creators.
The feature-length piece, which won a Sundance Award for best documentary editing, closely follows the lives of independent developers such as Fez co-creator Phil Fish, Braid designer Jonathan Blow and Team Meat’s Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen.
Pajot and Swirsky’s recent interview with Develop can be found here.
