Top minds behind Minecraft, Uncharted and more join fans to pay for new game
The buzz surrounding the Tim Schafer's and Ron Gilbert's crowdsourcing initiative has not only sparked interest from gamers - but also high-profile developers.
Overnight Double Fine launched a crowdsource funding program for its new adventure game and made $400,000 in about eight hours.
The game's famous industry figures include Markus ‘notch’ Persson of Minecraft fame, industry veteran George Broussard, Insomniac’s Mike Acton, and Naughty Dog’s talented script writer and director Amy Hennig.
Other investors have included Bastion creative director Greg Kasavin, journalist Luke Plunkett and actress Felicia Day.
In total, more than 10,000 people have so far donated at least $15 to the title.
