Lua coders can now work through iPad

Programming environment bundled in $8 app

A new iPad application has been released letting developers create code without the need for a keyboard.

Called Codify, the software allows programmers to write and test code on their tablet, with the inclusion of full in-line reference documentation and intelligent auto-completion.

The editor also supports the iPad’s accelerometer and multi-touch control features.

Australian company Two Lives Left based the app on the Lua programing language and claims it provides one of the richest coding environments on a tablet.

Prototypes can be viewed in full with the product’s vector graphics and image renderer.

The game interface lets you tweak variables at runtime, and templates included with the software provide a quick and easy learning tool for early developers.

Codify is now available for £5.49 from the iTunes App Store.
