Publisher's Peter Hines says no id software game has been stalled - indefinitely or otherwise
[Update: Bethesda's VP of PR Peter Hines has denied the rumours of the postponement of work on id Software's Doom 4 as "complete bollocks".
After responding on the story to Eurogamer, Hines added on Twitter: "Doom 4 rumour, games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed - indefinitely or otherwise."]
Original Story: Doom 4 has been indefinitely postponed after disappointing reviews and technical issues for id’s Rage, says a source claiming to be close to publisher Bethesda.
The unnamed source told Kotaku that Bethesda and parent company Zenimax held a “company wide” meeting in Dallas, where the decision was made.
The publisher said it had decided to postpone the game due to “the issues and reviews” after Rage’s release.
The source added there was now “a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id”. The news is currently unconfirmed by Bethesda, Zenimax or id.
Rage has an average rating of 79 to 83 on Metacritic since its 4th October release and is currently ranked number four in the UK charts, according to chart-track.
