Havok: 'Why we chose Trinigy'

The two middleware firms talk integrated technology
Speaking to Develop in a recently published interview, Trinigy and Havok have revealed why Vision is the first engine to benefit from pre-baked integration with the latter's Physics middleware tech.
"To enable truly out-of-the-box integration between Havok Physics and a game engine that includes a complete tool pipeline and run-time solution, we needed to establish something more committed than just a public download," revealed Havok's Jeff Yates. "That’s how we came to our agreement with Trinigy, and we genuinely believe it will enable Trinigy/Havok customers to experience the most comprehensive physics-engine integration available in the commercial market."
"The Vision Engine was architected from the beginning to integrate well with other game development tools and middleware," added Trinigy's Dag Frommhold. "We do this because our customers want tools that are not only free of technical hindrances, but that also allow them to efficiently create the games they want to make. Working with an industry-leading company like Havok to improve our toolset benefits us and our customers.
In the same feature, which can be read here, Frommhold also claims that more middleware firms should partner.
"If game developers have problems moving or sharing data between applications, that can slow development time, drive up costs, limit creativity and ultimately affect the quality of the game," said Frommhold.
