Namco Bandai licenses Infernal Engine

Development team at Red Fly Studio to use the engine for its upcoming Wii cooking game

Namco Bandai has become the latest publisher to license the use of Terminal Reality’s proprietary Infernal Engine.

The Infernal Engine will be used by Red Fly Studio for the development on the upcoming Wii game Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked.

The news follows Terminal Reality’s announcement early in May that its engine is being used for two new titles in development at Canadian outfit Piranha Games.

“By using the Infernal Engine, Red Fly Studio is creating a cooking game where the food actually looks edible,” offered Joe Kreiner, VP Sales and Marketing at Terminal Reality.

Kreiner went on to praise the Infernal Engine’s scalability, claiming that it was an ideal engine for development on the Wii.

Mike Morishita, executive producer at Namco Bandai Games America said that the shortcuts the engine provides has allowed the team at Red Fly more time to focus on the core concept of the game itself.
