Managing Director Avni Yerli becomes the newest name on the board as GDC gears for its event in Cologne
Crytek managing director Avni Yerli is the newest face on GDC Europe’s advisory board.
Yerli joins eight other industry experts who are volunteering their time to help develop the conference sessions for the GDC Europe event, which takes place from August 17-19 in Cologne, Germany.
"I am flattered to have joined the GDC Europe advisory board and am looking forward to working with a talented group of advisors," said Yerli.
"Together with their strong opinions and vision, I am confident that the advisory board can create a conference that will hit the industry's nerve."
Yerli and his two brothers Cevat and Faruk established Crytek in the German city of Frankfurt just a little over ten years ago.
Today the company boasts a consortium of studios stretching from the UK to South Korea, a workforce pushing 500, and a handful of acclaimed games including the landmark 2007 PC title Crysis.
Develop recently sat down with Yerli’s brother Cevat to discuss a range of topics, from the studio’s newest engine to its goals for the recently acquired UK studio formerly known as Free Radical. Read it all here.
