Issue 94 with subscribers and also available online for free
The May issue of Develop has been sent to subscribers and is now available to read online – for free – either as a PDF here (registration required) or in-browser via the Flash-based viewer Issuu.
This month's cover story is the results of our world-wide Quality of Life survey, featuring a full breakdown of the responses, analysis, Tiga CEO Richard Wilson's response and comparisons between publisher-owned and independent studios. We've also featured our pick of the best - or some might say worst - of the personal comments and stories we received illustrating the problems still existing in the industry five years after ea_spouse first caused a storm.
We've also got an interview with Hideo Kojima, in which he tells us his plans for collaborating with Western studios and his role in the industry, and we also catch up with Capcom's Ryozo Tsujimoto - creator of the PSP-saving Monster Hunter series - to talk about bringing that success to the West, and the detail-orientated nature of Japanese development.
Not only that, but we also visit London Studio to celebrate five years of SingStar flying the flag for social gaming; discover Paramount's plans for games with John Kavanagh and look at the Develop Quiz's return on June 18th.
In our Build technology sector, meanwhile, we talk to Unity about the future for its rapidly-expanding engine; give the AI middleware field our special Guide treatment; and go in-depth with Allegorithmic's new Substance Air procedural texturing tech.
Plus, of course, we've all our usual insightful commentary from Ruffian's Billy Thomson, Games Investor Consulting's Rick Gibson, Black Rock Studio's David Jefferies, audio guru John Broomhall and Develop executive editor Owain Bennallack.
So, to check it all out, either register on our website and download the PDF here, or view it in your browser at Issuu.
