Climax picked to ?reinvent? Konami?s Silent Hill

First game in iconic franchise to be revamped for Wii, PS2 and PSP by Britsoft firm

Climax has been confirmed as developing a new Silent Hill game for Konami.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will hit PS2, PSP and Wii, and is pitched as a ‘reinvention’ of the first game in the series, originally developed in Japan.

Series composer Akira Yamaoka has been confirmed as working on a score for this new title.

It’s not the first time Konami has turned to a developer in the West to work on new versions of its survival horror franchise. Climax recently developed a PSP version and Foundation 9’s Double Helix last year produced Silent Hill: Homecoming for 360 and PS3.

Konami has also recently turned to another US independent, Zombie, for another horror game – a title based on the five-strong Saw movie franchise.
