EA has officially revealed the new name of its UK-based casual games team and also unveiled the team's next project.
Called EA Bright Light, the Guildford-based team shares its offices with Criterion Games.
Bright Light sits under the EA Casual Entertainment label, has a specific focus on young and family audiences and is lead by Harvey Elliot.
The studio has a hertitage creating a number of key titles, including those enlisted through the acquisition of Bullfrog Productions in 1995 - specifically games such as Theme Park, Syndicate, Populous and Dungeon Keeper. The Harry Potter team is also part of EA Bright Light.
EA today announced the first Bright Light game, a music-action title for the Nintendo DS called Zubo.
"Zubo represents the culmination of a dedicated incubation
project, which specifically sought to develop a new videogame property for boys and girls under 12," said Elliott.
"The team here has designed a rich, immersive and, above all, enjoyable experience - one that will live in the schoolyard, at home or on the move."
Expect to see more details on Zubo in Develop soon.
