Feb launch touted for Sony Ericsson game phone

Develop's sister magazine Mobile Entertainment reports that Sony is gearing up to unveil a new games-focused mobile handset in February 2008.

The Sony Ericsson phone will not boast PSP branding, says the report - but "will offer a games-oriented user interface and styling, and comprise technical innovations such as motion-sensitivity, which will pave the way for Wii-like gameplay on a handset," says ME.

Whispers that a device based around gaming functions would emerge from Sony Ericsson have been circulating for years - earlier this year the company filed a patent for such a device.
