Countdown ticks towards GDC deadline

The January 31st early registration deadline for March's Game Developers Conference is fast approaching - and the event is shaping up for the biggest outing in its 20-year history.
GDC has already attracted a raft of talent from around the world, with a number of notable Japanese, American and European developers already confirmed for revealing lectures and sessions during the week.
Plus, organiser CMP has added a number of important keynotes to its popular GDC Mobile conference and Serious Games Summit. PeopleJam president Robert Tercek takes to the stage for the former, while Square Enix' chief strategist Ichiro Otobe will explain the Japanese giant's new interest in educational software at the latter.
Taking place from March 5th to March 9th at San Francisco's Moscone Center, GDC's lectures and sessions are joined by a busy expo. In 2007 the huge show occupies both the North and West Halls at the convention center to offer space to both established and emerging companies and reflect the diverse and distinctive nature of games development.
Alongside that Game Connection is offering a new Services event aiming to connect companies with outsourcing needs to service providers, all based on the networking format that has already been successful in its developer-publisher events.
And that's not all: the main conference, which runs with the expo from March 7th to 9th, will be boosted further in the coming weeks with important announcements on its keynote speakers, which regularly see top executives from format holders and publishers make agenda-setting announcements for the whole games industry.
More information, including registration details and costs, can be found at the official GDC site.
