Friday, March 20th 2009 - Canada's glitziest video games and animation awards show returns for its third year, celebrating the best achievements of the past year in games, animation and - for the first time - visual effects.
The 3rd Annual Elans - or the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts as it's formally known - breaks from tradition this year, this year's awards sees the eligibility thrown open to the whole world - the first category of its kind, the organisers say. This year's host hasn't yet been announced, but given the previous calibre - William Shatner in the first year and Family Guy creator and voice actor Seth MacFarlane in the second - expect it to be higher profile than your average awards show.
Be sure to dust off your poshest dresses and smartest suits, though - the event is high class from the very core, with organisers saying that the event attracts 'the upper echelon of industry big wigs' - no doubt a great chance to network while soaking in the glamour.
