Britain’s leading games news site builds on recent growth with a new design, new editorial facets and new commercial opportunities
Brighton, England, January 23, 2014: VG247.com, part of Gamer Network and Britain’s first and only 24-hour games news site, went live with its latest design today.
The relaunch will help VG247 build on record traffic in 2013 and has been crafted through careful consultation with its readers, the industry and the Gamer Network team.
VG247’s new “Breaking News” functionality allows the editorial team to get gaming news onto readers’ desktops and mobile devices faster than ever before; a dedicated guides section means readers have access to the best information on today’s biggest games; a seven-day “Ticker” provides barebones reading for those looking for no-frills information; and a new, responsive design makes the 1,300 articles VG247 publishes a month easier to find on all devices.
The new look also features a host of new commercial opportunities for advertisers and partners.
The relaunch is the second stage of VG247’s 2014 growth plan, coming after the New Year announcement of Matt Martin’s appointment as editor after a lengthy tenure on GamesIndustry.biz.
Enhancements to VG247’s community suite are planned for the near-future.
