Vehicle construction and combat game TerraTech hits Kickstarter after 'Game of the Show' success at Radius Festival

23 rd June 2014, London, UK. Vehicle construction and combat game TerraTech, hailed as the Radius Festival 'Game of the Show' by Kotaku UK last week and described by The Guardian as “extremely promising”, today launches its Kickstarter campaign to further fund development of the original indie title.

Combining an intuitive modular construction mechanic and a realistic physics engine, TerraTech players can design and construct an almost limitless fleet of varied mining, exploration and combat vehicles, pitting them against other planetary prospectors in a quest to find and harvest rare and powerful natural resources.

Developed by indie startup Payload Studios, TerraTech started pre-production in late 2013, and is being developed by a core team of just four developers. The game has already garnered a lot of attention and built an enthusiastic and engaged community, via its active social feeds, daily live-streaming of development, and built-in vehicle sharing mechanics.

Despite still being early in development, the game was selected to appear at EGX Rezzed Leftfield Collection, MCM Comic Con and The Gadget Show Live, as well as last week's Radius Festival. It has also maintained a strong presence on IndieDB over the last six weeks, attracting nearly 7,000 downloads of the three builds released to date. A new Kickstarter build will also be available today: www.indiedb.com/games/terratech/downloads

Payload is aiming for a Kickstarter target of £35,000 over the next five weeks, with a number of stretch goals that will enable additional content and functionality. Rewards include access to the closed beta stage of the project and a range of exclusive in-game content.

Founder and lead programmer Russ Clarke is excited by the game's potential: “We've had an amazing response to the game so far from everyone who's played the game at home or at the shows we've attended, and we've worked really hard to support and listen to our growing community along the way. We think the time is now right to appeal to our super-fans to help us make TerraTech into the game it deserves to be.”

The Kickstarter campaign will be officially launched during a livestream tonight, starting at 5pm UK time at www.twitch.tv/TerraTechGame.
