Rhianna will join Brenda and John Romero, Gareth Glover (Ubisoft) and Liz Mercuri (Unity) at the sold-out game development conference this Novemberp>1 NOVEMBER 2017 -- Game Anglia is pleased to announce that award-winning scriptwriter and story designer Rhianna Pratchett will be delivering a talk at this year’s conference.
Rhianna Pratchett has been writing for over 15 years, starting out writing features and columns on games for the likes of PC Zone and the Guardian. After moving into scriptwriting and narrative design, her work on Heavenly Sword was nominated for a BAFTA and she later won a Writers’ Guild of Great Britain ‘Best Videogame Script’ award for Overlord.
Rhianna joins BAFTA award-winning Brenda Romero, Gareth Glover from Ubisoft, Liz Mercuri from Unity, and John Romero of Doom fame. Throughout the day, experts from around the world will cover a range of topics from turning game jam submissions into fully realised games, all the way to final user testing.
Aside from the talks, the conference will showcase a multitude of indie titles from mobile games to virtual reality. Visitors can play, leave feedback and vote on their favourites from the day, as well as meet local studios and mingle with like-minded gamers. Those interested in attending, showcasing or sponsoring the event can get in touch with the Game Anglia team at gameanglia.co.uk or email email@example.com.
The event will be hosted at the newly refurbished Atrium Building at the University of Suffolk and from 10am until 6pm on the 18th November. Parking is available in the University of Suffolk car park and will be free to visitors of the event. Only a handful of afterparty tickets now remain after the event sold out in little over a month, prompting the planning of a larger event in 2018.
"We're delighted to announce Rhianna Pratchett as another superb speaker for Game Anglia 2017 and thrilled that all the tickets are now sold," said Ian Garstang, video game blogger and head of marketing for Game Anglia. "Rhianna is a key figure in video games and can offer valuable insight into story design and narrative development, which is hugely important for the evolution of the gaming industry."
