To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the BIMAs this year, the awards have been totally revamped with new categories; more opportunities to win; more interactive judging; a new committee; and a new event venue.

Since the BIMA Awards were first introduced in 1984, they have undergone continuous development and have always strived to encompass the constant changes within the interactive industry. The awards aim to recognise and reward creative excellence in interactive design and innovation, and are much sought after and coveted in the UKs new media industry.

New awards categories have been added to represent the whole of the interactive community. So, with each entry, companies have a total of 12 chances win because as well as the main categories, there are 11 special awards that each entry will be automatically eligible for.

Entrants can look forward to even more guidance than ever, as judges comments will for the first time be fed back to participants. All main categories will be accessed against four key criteria strategy, creativity, interactivity and effectiveness the crucial elements of any interactive project.

Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, stated: Gaming is one of the UKs most innovative and creative sectors, we would like to encourage more companies to profile their excellence by entering the BIMA awards, which are a fantastic showcase for talent.

New Chair of the BIMA Awards, Chris Kempt, says: Weve instigated major changes this year to provide a wider appeal to the whole interactive industry. More designers and innovators can get involved in the BIMAs than ever before, at whatever level they choose. Weve even made entering more exciting - enter one award and get considered for 12!
