SAN FRANCISCO--August 16th, 2013: Choice of Games announced today that the third part of the "Choice of Romance: Affairs of the Court" trilogy, their popular series of multiple-choice interactive-fiction games, is now available for iOS, Android and, via the Chrome Web Store, Windows, OS X, and Linux.
The third part, titled "'Til Death Do Us Part," is the climactic conclusion to the trilogy, a fantasy story of clandestine love affairs, revolution, and betrayal, which started with "Choice of Romance" and continued in "Choice of Intrigues."
In "Choice of Romance: Affairs of the Court," your choices determine how the story proceeds.nbsp; The game is entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--but driven by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
For example, when a young rival arrives at court and draws the wandering eye of King Augustiacute;n, your husband, what will you do?
A) Take the earliest possible opportunity to speak alone with her and warn her off.
B) Find another more suitable match for her.
C) Destroy her reputation.
D) Poison her.
E) Cast a forbidden Death Curse on her.
But in this game, you can also choose to play as male or female, gay or straight. You can choose whether a King or Queen rules Iberia, whether the rival will be male or female, or whether you'll marry the Monarch at all.
"Fans have been waiting for part III since we released Intrigues in 2011," said Heather Albano, the lead author. "It's over 100,000 words long, and it's probably the most complex interactive novel we've ever written. Writing sequels to branching stories like ours is very complicated, because each branch can multiply the amount of work required to ensure that every ending is meaningful."
"Choice of Romance" has been critically acclaimed, with AppSafari calling it "a wonderfully fascinating and addictive experience that will leave you playing it over and over again as you attempt to discover each new ending" and Jezebel approving the "sexually liberated update" to the choose-a-path style of storytelling.
