Taiwan Indie Teams 7QUARK, Werold Look Abroad Philippines

ESGS 2017 Focused on eSports and PC Games

p>Philippines, also known as the Tiger of Asia, have a gaming industry that has been developing rapidly in recent years. Market Research, Newzoo, predicted that in 2017, total revenue in gaming industry will exceed 3 billion USD with mobile gaming markets being the most expansive, at about 2 billion USD. This is the first time that “Taipei Game Show” led Taiwan Indie teams to the South to attend ESGS 2017, the largest gaming event in Philippines, including “7QUARK”, whose product has been recommended by App Store and Google Play numerous times, and “Werold”, whose product targeted Philippines markets along with their first product publication.

In the second time participating in ESGS, “Werold” showcased their new game “MoKai Adventure AR”. To give players an impressive gaming experience, on top of upgrading game content, combining AR elements, and creating a revolutionary way of dueling, they also emphasized on the decoration of their booth. The producer mentioned that gamers were attached to eSports so much in Philippines which could catch their attention if the games focus on fighting or competition. What’s more, due to “MoKai Adventure AR” was related to physical cards, which led to some business opportunities to distribute locally.

Mr.Catt” is a game developed by Taiwan indie team “7QUARK”. Its aesthetic visuals and intriguing music style have earned itself lots of fans since its publication on both Google Play and App Store. It has been recommended on both platforms numerous times. The team recently also announced a series of related merchandise and original sound track. It was their first time to attend ESGS, and the producer mentioned that the commuters were fond of single-player games due to heavy traffic and expensive internet access. “Mr. Catt” got the advantages of single player games; add on to that the color-ramp background and exquisite star props also help gain lots of downloads with in Philippines.

ESGS 2017?ESPORTS AND GAMING SUMMIT?was held in SMX Convention Center, Manila, October 27th -29th with eSports game hardware company such as HyperX, MSI GAMING, PREDATOR, View Sonic XG, etc. Also, Ubisoft showcased the stage event of “JUST DANCE 2018”. PlayStation released “Dragonball Fighter Z”, “Super Smash Bros”. While ESGS commenced, ROG (Republic of Gamers), an eSports brand under Asus held “CS:GO” and “DOTA 2” tournament in exhibition center.

VR+, a famous VR games store in Taiwan, has also exhibited in ESGS for the first time. It introduced horror game “Dead Prison” which terrified players who dared playing it. The team is preparing for an experience store in Philippines which will open soon.

Taipei Game Show, the largest indie game event in Asia will be held in January of next year. Up to now, the organizer has already received applications from more than 180 indie teams. The organizer invited many outstanding teams from Southeast Asia during EGSG event, and believe that Taipei Game Show 2018 will be the largest indie game event in Asia.
