Sytexis Software Releases PlayClaw 2.1 for Game Video Capture

Faster High and Low Compression Codecs, Mixing of Two Audio Sources in One AVI Audio Track and Updated Teamspeak 3 Plugins Ensure Outstanding Quality of Game Video Capture

TAMBOV, Russia– May 26, 2011– Sytexis Software, one of the leading developers of game video capture and benchmarking technologies, today announces the availability of PlayClaw 2.1, the latest version of its application for recording video and capturing screenshots in OpenGL and DirectX games.

With the new release, PlayClaw offers faster compression in High and Low modes. High compression mode performs 2-4 times faster than in the earlier releases, while Low compression is faster by 25%. This significantly reduces the time required for compression, especially in the High mode, yet delivers outstanding quality of game video. In addition, PlayClaw delivers updated Teamspeak plugins, which are now compatible with RC1 TS3 client, and a new option for mixing two audio sources into one AVI audio track, letting the user, for example, combine the sound of the game and microphone chat together. Also many minor bugs have been fixed to improve performance.

PlayClaw provides gamers with a powerful tool for capturing video and screenshots in games with minimal loss of the frame-rate and computer slowdowns, even at full resolution video. Superior quality of video capture is ensured by the combination of multi-core CPU support and lean coding made specifically for use with resource consuming games. Gamers get a full range of settings for customizing the output video, including High and Low compression levels, Full and Half frame sizes, adjustable frame rate, the ability to select the number of cores to process video. PlayClaw’s pre-recording technology ensures that a video is captured from the very first second without delays, so the gamer can capture the hottest moments of the game play exactly from the very beginning.

Also PlayClaw offers a variety of overlays to enhance the gaming experience and run benchmark tests. The program displays on-screen Ventrilo/Teamspeak overlays with nicknames of players who are talking at the moment in the multiplayer game, performance overlays for benchmarking the system and measuring FPS, overlays with video recording statistics. All these features make PlayClaw the ideal solution for anyone who wants to capture the most exciting game moments to replay later or share on YouTube, as well as benchmark the system.

“PlayClaw has been evolving with the needs of the gamers and evolution of games, becoming more and more powerful and capable of a lot more tasks than originally planned at the start of the project,” says Edward Kozadaev, author of PlayClaw.“PlayClaw 2.1’s product enhancements were developed to improve the gamer experience in anticipation of even more powerful version 3.0 whose release is around the corner.”

According to the author, PlayClaw 3.0 will support native x64 games, following the requests of the users and trends of the game market. Also the upcoming release will feature much better usability and will be available in three editions: Light, Standard and Pro. Upgrade to PlayClaw 3.0 will be free.
