Submission is Open for Out Of Index 2017, an Experimental Games Festival

April 17th 2017, Seoul, South Korea

Out Of Index (a.k.a. OOI) 2017, an experimental games festival in South Korea, will be held in Seoul. The OOI organizers announced that submission has opened, starting April 17th.

OOI is organized in order to inspire the game industry with new ideas and experimental energy. The festival selects the most experimental games from games submitted globally and showcases them to the game developers and gamers.

Started in 2014, the 4th OOI is comprised of an experimental game contest and the festival where each game is announced and showcased. Last year, Out Of Index 2016 has showcased 12 official selections out of 91 games submitted globally from 29 countries at the S-Plex center, Seoul, where 300 attendees who backed the festival through crowdfunding filled up the site. Same as the last year, OOI will begin a crowdfunding campaign and invite the backers to the showcase.

"Brand new gameplay experience" is the definition of "experimental game" used by the OOI committee. As long as they meet the requirements, anyone can submit to the showcase, regardless of nationality, status, or age. To allow convenient selection and showcasing, only digital games with a playable demo will be accepted.

Submissions are due by May 31st 11:59 KST (UTC + 9), and selected game developers will have the chance to present at the showcase scheduled on July 22nd. More info, including the link to the submission, can be found at the OOI’s website: www.outofindex.org .
