UK-based media house expands from its mobile core into the PC Games Industry with dedicated trade publications and events
London, UK, 8th August 2017 - UK-based media and events company Steel Media Ltd today unveils its brand new PC games industry website PCGamesInsider.biz. Together with the new PC Connects event (launching at the PG Connects Helsinki conference in September 19-20th) it underpins a concerted move into the PC games space.
The b2b PC editorial content – run by editor Alex Calvin, formerly of MCV – will be comprehensive in its coverage of the revitalised PC scene. From behemoth triple-A projects to HTML5 browser titles by way of smaller indie titles, what the biggest hardware firms are up to and the burgeoning eSports scene, PCGamesInsider.biz will cover every aspect of the games industry’s most interesting area.
In doing so, it will provide insight and analysis into the market to help readers get the most out of the sector. Expect key industry news and interviews from events like Gamescom and GDC with the PC's most important developers, publishers, investors and innovators. There'll be regular profiles of indie developers, success stories and case studies, a panel of experts tracking each week's top stories, and more.
COO Dave Bradley commented:
"PC gaming is experiencing something of a renaissance at the moment, with so much going on in the space. From HTML 5 browser games to hardcore esports, the sector has never been busier. It's great to have our new PC site up and running to help industry professionals quickly get to the most important news and analysis. And it means we'll be able to welcome PC content into our conferences, starting with PC Connects Helsinki on 19 and 20 September. It will feature a PC track, expo, and pitch event." CEO and company founder Chris James added:
"Steel Media's core is and will always remain in the mobile gaming space, that’s not changing and we’re actually increasing resource to support our activities there. However we recognise that our partners are interested in opportunities elsewhere and the PC space in particular is looking increasingly attractive for many in the mobile space.
“Following on from our launches into the AR/VR space last year, 2017's ventures are all about adding more benefit and utility to our industry platforms. Including PC in our online coverage and event series was inevitable and it's off to a fantastic start with Alex Calvin in the editor's role and Alex Boucher heading up the sales team.
“There’s more to come too as we’ll be further expanding our remit with the arrival of a dedicated site and event content centred around the burgeoning influencer scene aiming to demystify, explore, analyse and celebrate the new discipline of influencer marketing.
"Naturally all these areas interconnect to some degree and we believe by covering PC, VR and influencers alongside the core mobile business we’re able to offer even more comprehensive support for our partners and continue in our role to connect the industry.”
