Soar Through Space and Smash Your Opponents in 'G-Ball'

Zero-Gravity Sports Game Now Available on Steam for PC and Mac

May 28, 2014 (Winnipeg, Canada)

Project Whitecard Studios Inc. announced today the release on Steam of the multiplayer game “Starlite Astronaut Academy: G-Ball” - developed in conjunction with NASA.

“G-Ball” is a fast-paced zero-gravity sport set in orbit in the year 2035. Astronaut athletes challenge you in a mash-up of basketball, football, and dodgeball as you soar through a zero gravity arena in 3 on 3 team matches. Players can lead shots on goal with the scoring ball or support their teammates by smashing their opponents with defensive balls. Zero-gravity ballers tackle and intercept the ball in this lightning-fast, hard-hitting game. The game includes text and voice chat as well as planned Oculus Rift support and an iPad version. Cloud Server and Home Server options are also included.

“The purpose of this game is to let players experience a sports game in zero-gravity. It’s much different than what you might expect! The ball has to be aimed a certain way, and recoil throws you back! It's Newton's first law (Because Science) and Hockey all rolled into one. I can't wait until astronauts are playing G-Ball for real!” – Khal Shariff, CEO, Project Whitecard Studios.

G-Ball is the first module of Starlite Astronaut Academy, a much-anticipated digital space exploration project developed in conjunction with NASA, who provided Project Whitecard with the science and mandate to deliver games with more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) content. Starlite has been made with the assistance of the Canada Media Fund.
