FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Brooklyn Gamery is proud to announce the lineup of the second annual Game Devs Of Color Expo, which is being organized by a team of indie game developers and marketing professionals including Catt Small and Shawn Alexander Allen. The event is being sponsored by Xbox and various other companies.
The first of its kind to occur at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, the event will take place on Saturday June 24th at 11AM. It will feature panel discussions, presentations and a fully playable arcade highlighting the breadth of experiences and cultures that can be tapped by the games industry.
Panel discussions will cover all aspects of game development, with a focus toward inclusivity and amplifying the voices of those otherwise marginalized by the gaming and tech community. Featured speakers include renowned creative artist Auriea Harvey, famed musician Sammus, and indie favorites such as Kevin Chen of Nuclear Fishin' Software. More information about the lineup can be found at gdocexpo.com/ schedule.
The expo also will include an arcade showcasing an exciting array of the latest releases by both Expo contributors and the larger community including Ghosts of Miami by Pillow Fight Games, EXPOSURE by Brian S. Chung and GJ Lee, Liyla and the Shadows of War by Liyla’s Team, and Semblance by Nyamakop. A full list of games is available at gdocexpo.com/games.
“Our goal, at the end of the day, is to spread the value of game development to up and coming talent, and grow the community as a whole through highlighting the value of games as culture.” - Catt Small
