Salzburg, Austria – February 27, 2014 – Following Red Bull Kart Fighter 3 – Unbeaten Tracks a game played by millions, Red Bull Media House today announced the release of Red Bull Racers, scheduled for March 2014, designed for iOS and Android. Red Bull Racers combines the gaming fun of the legendary racetrack system known from world market leader Carrera with digital advances, now allowing exciting smartphone duels while on the go. At release there will be over 100 races available in 3 unique series: Formula, Off-road, and Street. With special Friends Races, players can also challenge their own Facebook friends to a battle for the winner’s trophy or participate in global weekly competitions. Red Bull Racers will be available for free download with IAP on the App Store and Google Play in March 2014.
Just like the youngest ever four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel, players in Red Bull Racers start their racing career with a kart. By successfully completing races in each of the game modes Elimination, Domination, Cup, and Endurance, they can gradually unlock more racers, bringing the players closer to the multifaceted world of motorsports. Included in the game is probably the most successful car of 2013, the Infiniti Red Bull RB9, which Vettel drove to win his fourth world championship title. Also in pit lane is the Arden GP3, which Daniil Kvyat drove to victory last year in the GP3 Series, earning a spot as a driver in the highest class of motorsports for Torro Rosso. Off-road experts can look forward to, among other things, the winning car of the World Rally Championship 2013, the VW Polo R WRC, and the Australian touring car racing series V8 Supercars is also sending its 2013 world champion to the track. The Austrian local star KTM XBOW-R is among the street racers, and South America celebrates its debut on the digital track with the Brazilian Stock Car Championship. The first to cross the finish line and wind up in the Winner’s Circle is determined by more than just who has the most horses under the hood; handling in the tricky chicanes, loops, banked turns, and jumps is just as important.
The Friends Race mode offers special courses and challenges to discover for those who want to duel with their friends for the title of Best Racer on Smartphone and Tablet. Using Facebook Connect, players can face their friends and try to beat their best times on every course to win the cup.
Red Bull Racers, developed by Bongfish and published by Red Bull Media House, will be available for free with IAP on the App Store and Google Play in March 2014. Updates with more content are already in development and will provide even more fun over the course of the year.
