p>SAN FRANCISCO, September 8, 2017 - After fourteen years of pillaging, the makers of Puzzle Pirates are launching a new server featuring faction-based PvP and all new swashbuckling adventures.
The MMO announced this week that Dark Seas is entering the Early Access phase of development on Steam. This new server represents a new take on an old MMO favorite with a decidedly PvP focus.
“The goal for Dark Seas is to introduce an entirely new ocean,” the team explained, “a volatile new place full of more danger and unexplored frontiers.”
“Pirates will begin their journey in Port Venture of the Greywaters archipelago, a relatively safe place to begin getting your sea legs before venturing further out into the Obsidian ocean. When a crew is created, it must decide which faction it will align with.”
Dark seas will still contain all the elements that have inspired swashbucklers for over a decade. Players can create and customize a pirate, collect booty, join a player-run crew of cutthroats, and risk it all for the glory of their faction. Every activity in Puzzle Pirates is a uniquely fun puzzle: be it sailing, gunning, or hauling treasure. A player’s own puzzling skill determines their success.
This is the first major release for the crew at Grey Havens, the new independent game studio manned by former Three Rings employees.
“Brace yerself for piratey puzzle action as you pillage yer way to glory across the briny deep.”
