Proteus Arriving On PlayStation Consoles on October 29th, ‘Premiering’ in London West End Cinema

Award winning PC indie title explores new frontiers on Sony consoles next week, live action trailer to be shown in West End Cinema

London, UK – 22.10.2013 – Proteus will be available to download via PSN on October 29 th (North America) and October 30 th (Europe and Australia) for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita as a Cross-Buy title, with a release in Asia following several weeks later.

Ed Key, Curve Digital and Stray Dog Video have produced a Live Action trailer for the game, braving the weather of Cumbria in October to produce something very different to the average game trailer.  Designer Ed Key will be premiering both versions of the game and the live action trailer at an event in Leicester Square Odeon on October 28 th – press can find attendance details below.

The PlayStation version of Proteus comes with additional features not found in the PC version, including taking advantage of the Vita’s portability to allow users to generate the games island worlds based on their location in the real world. Players will also be able to effect the environment directly for the first time in the game, giving new depth and immersion into the dreamlike worlds they can explore in game.

Key said: “ It’s been exciting working with Curve and Sony to bring Proteus to consoles. Only a few years ago the idea of designers like David and I being able to bring their creations to a console audience would have been a nearly impossible goal.  I’m very proud to be able to bring the game across to a brand new audience.”

Proteus has been in development for six months at Curve Studios, the team responsible for developing the PlayStation versions Lone Survivor and Thomas Was Alone earlier this year. It also marks the fourth title in a year published by Curve Digital, the studio’s recently formed publishing arm.
