Promised Land 2017 announces first speakers

CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, announces first speakers to appear at this year’s Promised Land in September.

Opening this year’s lineup is Johnson Ting, a concept artist working for Project Triforce LLC, where he’s involved in the design, pre-production and development of collectibles for titles like Gears of War 4, Mortal Kombat X, Paragon, the Call of Duty franchise, Halo 5, Resident Evil 7, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Also joining Promised Land is Magdalena Dadela, senior character artist at Eidos Montreal, where she’s currently working on a yet unannounced project. Throughout her career she’s worked for companies like Ubisoft, Industrial Light & Magic and Guerrilla Games, and on game series like Assassin's Creed , Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, as well as the movie Warcraft.

Finally, there’s Peter Han — freelance concept artist and teacher with over 13 years of professional experience. Han’s created work for studios including Sony Interactive Entertainment San Diego and Trion Worlds. Since 2010 he’s been teaching design fundamentals at several schools based in Los Angeles, CA, including Art Center College of Design, Concept Design Academy and CG Master Academy.

You can read more about this year’s Promised Land speakers on the event’s official website.

Bringing together professionals working in film, gaming, and other creative industries, Promised Land is a place for the exchange of knowledge and experience, for networking, and crossing the divide between the digital and the traditional arts. The event plays host to more than a hundred activities ranging from hands-on workshops, talks and demos, to Q&A and networking sessions.

This year’s event will take place from September 3rd to September 6th in the EC1 Lódz centre — a former power station, now fully modernised and serving as a centre for culture and science.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase here.

Promised Land is held under the auspices of Lódz City Council as part of the Lódz Creates ( Lódz Kreuje) and EC1 Lódz The City of Culture ( EC1 Lódz Miasto Kultury) promotional programmes.
