Pill Bug Interactive is evolving! Makers of the evolutionary god game Intelligent Design: An Evolutionary Sandbox, take on new blood

p>Pill Bug Interactive is a games development studio based in South Wales, UK.  The studio was formed by Sean Walton with the aim of creating games that appear simple on the outside, but have a hidden complexity within.

CARDIFF, November 28, 2017 – Today, Pill Bug is excited to announce that David Towsey, published author and lecturer, is joining the team. Towsey has a reputation for publishing unusual, thought-provoking, and rewarding fiction – so he felt like a natural fit for Pill Bug.

Following the success of Intelligent Design: An Evolutionary Sandbox, the games studio was keen to continue creating games that challenge players’ perceptions of what modern Indies can, and should, be. With Towsey taking the reins of narrative game design, expect future Pill Bug releases to utilise story in their meta-puzzles, game play, and much more.

Ready to get stuck in straight away, Towsey has been working on the company’s next release: Cycle 28, a 2D space shooter reminiscent of many classic arcade games. Of Cycle 28, Towsey said: “It has been great to be involved so early in the development of Cycle 28. Immediately I could see how the story might shape the feel and direction of the game, and vice versa. The complexities I enjoy in fiction just worked so well with Pill Bug’s vision. I can’t wait for players to start peeling back the layers of this deceptively simple game.”

Cycle 28 is scheduled for release in early 2018, and is already garnering attention in indie game communities.
