Seoul, South Korea, July 30th, 2013 - PATI Games, famous for their international hit title "I Love Coffee," starts a new challenge as a publisher for their first third party title. Along with this new change they have taken the first steps into the character and franchise branding business.
The team has recently launched the American social network game "Happy Street"
onto Kakao Talk Korea's game platform. It is their first published title from the Western market and their debut into the character brand licensing. "Happy Street," developed by Godzi Lab, is a global blockbuster having already won 2012 "Best App of the Year" on the Apple App Store in the US, Canada, Australia, and Japan. The main feature of the game is to collect over 100 different types of buildings and characters, creating and decorating your very own 'street.' Using the social network features, players can connect to their friends and aid each other during quests and show off their streets. The strongest point that has attracted so many users is the cute concept that reflects the aesthetics of the Western style and appeals to both youth and adults alike.
PATI Games also plan on making character merchandise, based off of characters in "Happy Street," such as toys and emoticons that will be available later on.
This is the start of their publishing business of foreign licensed titles but PATI Games, plan on expanding to start overseas publishing of Korean titles as well. They presented their plans on their $10 million investment into publishing this last March and since then have kept in touch with many different developers.
PATI Games plan to publish 7-8 new mobile titles this year, including both new in-house developed projects as well as upcoming third party licensed games.
The CEO, Alan Lee, said, "At this point the mobile version of 'I Love Coffee' is looking at its 1 year anniversary of service with over 8 million users in Korea. We expect and hope for 'Happy Street' to become the next big game that will have a long and successful service. We will do our best to make it as great as 'I Love Coffee' in both publishing and branding."
