Nordic Game 2014: A week of celebrations

Peers from the Nordic and global game developer community celebrated the ten-year anniversary of Europe’s most relevant industry conference on 21-23 May 2014.

Here are some of the NG14 highlights:?

More than 2000 visitors took the trip to Slagthuset in Malmø, Sweden this year. With three days filled with talks, workshops, summits, and events like the Nordic Game Indie Night (21 May), and Nordic Game Awards (22 May), there were plenty of options to get smarter, to network, and to have fun.

With 97 speakers listed, and 54 sessions to choose from, delegates had a lot to pick from in the main conference program. There were many highlights, among them David Braben (Elite: Dangerous), Marty O'Donnell (Halo/Destiny), Mike Bithell (Thomas was Alone), Steve Gaynor (Gone Home), Massimo Guarini (Murasaki Baby), Michael Jungbluth (The Elder Scrolls Online), Peter McConnell (Broken Age), Ryan Payton (République), and not least Nordic Game mascot Ste Curran, who once again moved the audience with a brilliant session.

9 new Nordic game projects were granted 3 Million DKK in what might be the last support round of the Nordic Game Program.  Among them, Tarsier Studios AB, Sweden, were granted 500 000 DKK for their project “Hunger”. More at
