GAME Digital, today announces that Craig Fletcher will formally leave his full time role at the Group at the end of 2017. Craig will continue to support the company’s esport aspirations and development of Insomnia over the months and years ahead whilst formally leaving at the end of December. Andy Dopson, currently Head of Belong, will assume the role of Head of esports and Belong and will oversee all our esports activities together in one place, combined with Belong under a unique and immensely powerful strategy from grass roots to professional. Andy will continue to report directly to GAME CEO, Martyn Gibbs.
Craig created Multiplay over 20 years ago and joined GAME when the Group acquired Multiplay back in 2015. Craig drove the growth of the Multiplay business through 2015 and then assumed a new role as Senior Vice President of esports in 2016.
Multiplay has been an incredibly valuable addition to the GAME business through it supporting our long term esports and Belong strategy, our ever-growing events business and the digital business that has recently been acquired.
Martyn Gibbs, CEO said: “I’d like to personally say a massive thankyou to Craig for the energy, fun and vision he has brought to our business, and of course for the support and friendship that will continue way beyond today. We are making good progress with our Belong, esports and competitive gaming strategy. Results from our Belong arenas and activities are encouraging, our arena competitive gaming tournament, Arena Clash, is now fully operational and the recently announced partnership with Activision for Call of Duty: World League at Insomnia demonstrates our unique ability to deliver through all elements of esports and competitive gaming.”
