|FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE|
San Diego, California - February 18, 2014 -
Scarlet Moon Records is pleased to announce the release of the epic
Korean fantasy MMORPG soundtrack to
Monarch: Heroes of a New Age. The original soundtrack
features memorable melodies and a powerful orchestral score while
Arrangements & Variations album contains
alternate versions of many tracks along with new arrangements
featuring Korean vocals, beautiful pop ballads, and a moving
saxophone and piano improvisation performance by
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater composer Norihiko Hibino
and pianist AYAKI.
Monarch: Heroes of a New Age is an ever-expanding MMORPG title developed by Korean-based Maius Games, and features music by Korean composer Goomin "Nauts" Nam. Nam's previous works include the hugely successful drink mixing simulation series, Bar Oasis, currently available for iOS, and contributions to the popular DJMAX rhythm game franchise.
"I've always had a deep appreciation for game music coming out of Korea," notes Scarlet Moon Records producer Jayson Napolitano. "The work of Goomin Nam in particular caught my attention for the infectious melodies he created for the DJMAX series, as well as his upbeat jazz compositions for the Bar Oasis games. But I think anyone who's familiar with his work will be amazed by what he's accomplished with Monarch: Heroes of a New Age. You can also expect a few surprises from the Variations & Arrangements album, including a soulful Korean vocal version of one of the game's most memorable pieces."
"When I first started working on the Monarch: Heroes of a New Age soundtrack, my initial idea was to make pieces that may not be of the latest trend, but will stay in people's memory," reflects composer Goomin Nam. "I came to the strong conclusion that I could play a beautiful tune for players, so that they'll get a moment of peace during their lonely battles. And I really hope that everyone that listens to the soundtrack gets that peace of mind as well."
Both the Monarch: Heroes of a New Age Original Soundtrack and the Monarch: Heroes of a New Age Arrangements & Variations albums are available from multiple online retailers, but the limited-print physical version is currently only available from Bandcamp, whereas the two digital albums are offered as a bundle exclusively on Loudr at a reduced price.
Also available from iTunes and Amazon MP3 (see "Album Information" below for all purchase links).
