Publisher Gameforge brings Metin2 – one of the most successful MMOs of all time – to Steam
Karlsruhe, May 9, 2017 | Today, Gameforge and developers Webzen have released the online role-playing game Metin2 worldwide on Steam. Metin2 is one of the greatest success stories of the MMO genre. The free-to-play title has been running in the western hemisphere for a decade, and at its peak had over 7.6 million players, more than World of Warcraft in the same time/region. The game still has a dynamic community with well over a Million active users and still receives regular updates.
Metin2 is coming out in force for the launch, with a newly improved introduction to give newcomers to the MMO classic an easier start and much faster progression. Returning players can look forward to oriental-themed action with a brand-new community, exclusive trading cards and badges.
One further goal in publishing the game on Steam is to soon provide players with the ability to link their existing accounts to Steam, thus fulfilling one of the community’s long-standing desires.
